This NAB 2017 Worldcast Systems presented their Turnkey Solar FM Transmission System. A system that delivers your FM Program to isolated communities with our standalone solar retransmission solution. The system is designed for areas with limited electrical infrastructure, the hybrid-powered SOLAR FM retransmitter can broadcast up to 10 hours a day covering 10km on solar power alone. The use of the SOLAR FM’s hybrid mode helps reduce your electricity costs since it allows to schedule the transmitter to use solar energy when available and minimize expenses.

One of the most important features is energy independence that this solution allows, in terms of power sources the integration includes the following: Solar panel, NiMH battery, Built-in Battery Management System and AC power supply.
Other possibilities are to build your own SOLAR FM network and increase your coverage area with additional SOLAR FM systems retransmitting FM or satellite signals. The system is expandable.

Capable of receiving audio from FM and Satellite as well as analog and/or AES inputs, the system comes complete with reception and transmission FM antennas (with cables), Satellite antenna or dish (with cable) as required and FM transmitter with scheduler & presets. Also, a dedicated smartphone application for control that allows local configuration & monitoring and the WorldCast MANAGER NMS software.
This turnkey solution is ideally suited to isolated and sunny areas, the SOLAR FM RETRANSMITTER provides long-term autonomy with up to 10 hours of uninterrupted broadcasting per day. The system has been specifically designed to be versatile, easy to mount and highly resilient when operating in difficult environments.
